A box set, containing 8 separate programmes: the enzo ferrari story. Enzo ferrari was certainly one of the most powerful names, and probably one of the most powerful and influential men, in motoring history. As a young boy, enzo dreamt of being an opera singer, a journalist or a racing driver, instead he created one of the most recognised company names in the modern world. During his 50-year reign he rarely left maranello the spiritual home of his beloved race teams and birthplace of the sports cars against which all others are judged and remained a very private man. This superb racing documentary by acclaimed formula one producer john tully reveals the essence of the man and his machines. The story is told from childhood, through 4 decades of racecar development, to a visit by the pope (in an open top ferrari pope-mobile of course!) Shortly before ferraris death in 1988. Narrated by christopher lee, this is the definitive ferrari documentary. Includes exclusive interviews with enzo himself and many of those who were key to his years of glory: niki lauda, baron toulo de graffenried, phil hill, tony brooks, clay regazzoni, mauro forghieri. A well produced, historically significant and fascinating film. Champion - james hunt. One year before his tragic death, james hunt gave an extensive film interview to producer neville hay for the champions series in which he recalled all the major stages of his career. Now we release the definitive dvd biography of a racing driver who was not only famous as britains fifth formula one champion but also as a colourful tv commentator. We combine james story with extensive archive material - from racing minis in 1967 to his ten gp victories between 1973 and 1979, during which time he drove for march, hesketh and mclaren. A superb profile of an exciting and charismatic champion. Champion - jim clark. Few names in motor racing historys hall of fame rank alongside that of jim clark. From 72 starts clark won 27 grands prix - a success ratio only bettered by fangio and ascari - and he was world champion driving lotus cars in 1963 and 1965. He was also the first briton to win the indianapolis 500 race. This is the full story on dvd featuring superb archive footage of an era which saw clark do battle with hill, surtees and later fellow scot and friend jackie stewart. Jackie stewart - the flying scot. Winner of three motor racing formula one world championships and 27 grand prix, the black cap and sideburns of the flying scot remain an unmistakable image of awesome speed, 70s glamour and charisma. The flying scot ventures further than the average sports personality profile, providing a comprehensive insight into the triumph and tragedy that has followed this scotsman both professionally and privately. Contributions are made by an outstanding collection of motor sports finest including niki lauda, emerson fittipaldi, murray walker and edsel ford as well as an interview and tv appearance of stewarts mentor and formula one legend, the late ken tyrrell, without whom jackies career would have taken a very different turn. The programme is produced by mark stewart, jackies youngest son who had unique access to family photographs, home movies and lady stewarts scrapbooks covering her husbands entire 99 grand prix career. Jackies remarkable story is told by those who know him best, and is interwoven with extensive and rare archive footage. Champion - juan manuel fangio. The story of the maestro himself - juan manuel fangio - one of the most successful racing drivers of all time. Fangio was an unknown when he arrived on the european grand prix circuits in 1948 from his native argentina. But, in the next ten years, he was world champion racing driver five times. He drove for alfa romeo, ferrari, maserati and mercedes-benz, where his partner in the legendary silver arrows team was stirling moss. In this all-action film documentary, fangio relives some his great victories at silverstone and spa, reims and the nurburgring, and in an exclusive interview tells moss the story behind his kidnap in cuba, his near fatal crash at monza, and how he rates the risk of 1950s racing against modern formula one. Following his death in july 1995, aged 84 this documentary is a fitting tribute to the great man. Champion - graham hill. The graham hill story is predominantly one of courage and determination. Norman graham hill started out as a mechanic for lotus and moved behind the wheel to become a grand prix driver when team lotus entered gp racing in 1958. Over the next seventeen years, hill started in 176 gps, won at indianapolis and le mans and won 14 world championship races. This fascinating programme faithfully recalls the highs and lows of this remarkable drivers career, featuring extensive and rare archive material and personal anecdotes and tributes from bette and damon hill. Champion - stirling moss. Stirling moss is undoubtedly one of the all time greats of motor racing. Indeed his name is almost synonymous with the sport itself. Between 1948 and 1962, he won 16 grand prix out of 66 started, drove aston martins, anwalls, coopers, maseratis, and mercedes to name but a few, won the mille migila in 1955 at an average of over 100 mph and generally drove just about anything, anywhere, faster than just about anyone else. This is his story, told in his own eloquent words, and liberally illustrated with rare archive material - much of it previously unseen. In fact, we feature action footage of moss driving no less than 33 different models of racing car, a reflection not only of stirlings extraordinary career but also of the nostalgic treats, which await the viewer of this dvd. Murray walkers f1 greats. For anyone who has followed murray walker over the years this dvd has to be an absolute must. A wealth of archive footage from the early days of grandprix racing right through to the schumacher years makes for a sensational programme. Who are murrays top 10 drivers of all time? Youll have to watch the programme and see!
