Folic acid
Folic acid is essential for the correct development of the foetus, in particular the complete development of the neural tube. Health advisory bodies recommend that women who are planning a pregnancy should supplement their diet with 400mcg folic acid a day. Folic acid has been shown to help lower homocysteine levels, one of the risk factors of heart disease. One tablet : 400mcg 200%. Pregnancy recommended: take one table per day when planning pregnancy, and for the first three months of pregnancy.
