The predecessor to aloe vera. Aloe Ferox is the Latin name for \'wild Aloe\'. Aloe ferox belongs to the Lilaceae plant family. Aloe ferox is neither irrigated nor treated with pesticides or insecticides. Containing three times as many polysaccharides than aloe vera, this plant is so strong that its survival is sustained through the strength of its own immune system. In addition to its extremely high polysaccharides count, it also contains around 160 different secondary plant substances, such as iso, bio flavinoids and aloiside. Research shows that secondary plant substances can have an anti viral, anti bacterial and anti mycotic (anti fungal) effect. The proportion of amino acids (proteins) is 2 to 1 in comparison with aloe vera. It also contains considerably more iron and calcium. This range of Aloe Ferox products are 100% wild grown and free from any preservatives. The bitter yellow juice which exudes from just below the surface of the leaf is prepared by an age-old method to form a dark brown resinous solid, known commercially as aloe lump or Cape aloes. Unlike most aloe vera products, aloe ferox never has to be filtered and thus retains all the naturally present active ingredients. The taste of the cloudy juice is neutral and pleasant. Aloe ferox juice can act as a natural digestive fermenting agent, supporting stomach complaints and used for detoxifying the intestines. Because aloe has been known to help our immune system it could raise the tolerance threshold in the case of allergies.
