Due to many requests from all over the world requesting a stitch for stitch recreation of one of Aero Leather Clothing, Beacon NY`s WWII Contract Type A2 Jackets, after much discussion we decided if we are going to do this, lets do it properly. We`ll make a proper Time Warp WWII Spec jacket. This means sourcing rougher heavier horse skins, leaving on all the scars, natural marks, and not trimming off the jerky shank - there was a war going on, every bit of horse went into the jacket. We are going to make the jacket that was thrown at the rookie Cadet by the Quartermaster, not the hand picked Bird Colonel`s A2. This is the jacket to stand up to a World War and come out the other end looking better than when it went in. Anyone who`s ever looked at original AAF Type A2`s would surely agree. During WWII Type A2`s were not the flawless, shiny unblemished, A2`s like the supposedly Stitch for Stitch replicas currently on the market. Ours will look like the Real Deal or we won`t make it at all. We`ve taken the original 42-15142-P contract Aero A2 and copied the tanning technique, lightly spraying a Seal Brown coating onto a reddish Horsehide base hide, drumming just enough to bring up the grain without unduly softening the hide. Like the original, this jacket will be fitted with a Triple Marked Talon with Art Deco Box in choice of Nickel or Antique Brass (State Preference, if any, in Specials Box on the shopping cart.) Other features include a clone of the original Aero label, identical Pale Mustard 100% Cotton lining, identical 100% wool knitted parts, Olive Drab 100% heavy duty Thread. Obviously we use original patterns... in fact only way to tell these from the originals is the construction quality, everyone knows Aero threw the jackets together during WWII. Available in Seal Brown or Russet Vegetable Tanned Jerky Horsehide only. With or without an AAF Decal, these A2's will look like an exceptionally preserved WWII Jacket upon delivery, but a couple of years hard wear and it will be indistinguishable from the original. This is a jacket to treat roughly, just like every other Aero.
