The Lost Contract Aero 38-1711-P Type A2. We are proud to offer an accurate repro of a truly rare pre WW2 Type A2 from Aero Beacon NY. This contract appeared in none of the many reference publications/websites for AAF Clothing prior to the discovery of an original 38-1711-P, which is now in our archives. Since then we've found out about two more such jackets in Japanese collections. There are a lot of features on this early contract not found on later AAF A2. The sleeves are top stitched on both seams, the cuffs and waistband have extra stitching above the jersey in USN style. The zipper fitting uses a completely different method to later Type A2s, it even has a riveted reinforcement at the bottom! The neck hooks are also fitted differently and the jacket has typical pre-war high off set collar on a stand collar. But perhaps the most striking features of the jacket are the narrow zipper fly front top-stitch on the left hand front and the beautifully sculptured pocket flaps and small pockets. A repro Triple Marked Talon Zipper is fitted as standard.
