A charge divert regulator allows a hybrid charging system of wind charger and PV solar panels to be connected direct to the storage batteries. The regulator itself connects the battery to an external dump resistor that dissipates excess charge. A dump current of 1.25 x maximum combined charge current is normal. The CR30W is a 12/24 volt charge divert regulator that features advanced PWM control with built-in temperature compensation, a 3-colour LED that indicates state of battery charge and fault conditions, and a solar charge LED. Maximum dump current is 30 Amps. Regulates to a bulk charge voltage of 14.4v (28.8v), and then drops to a float voltage of 13.7v (27.4v). A load disconnect operates below 11.5v (23.0v) and will not re-connect until battery recovers to 12.5v (25.0v). Maximum load current is 20 Amps. Regulator cover slides up to access cable terminals. Mount regulator in a dry, ventilated space near the battery, keeping clear of heat sources such as a generator, and fit a 40 amp in-line battery fuse. Battery standby current 4 mAmp. Size 134 x 217 x 34 mm. Weight: 0.60.
