Toys and Games Auctioneer
We were founded in 1985, although the company has its origins in the 19th century Liverpool shipbuilding firm in Shropshire.
We have a reputation for providing an efficient nation-wide valuation and auction service to institutions such as banks and building societies, the legal profession and executors of estates together with the regional and national charities, church diocese and the private vendor. Valuation Service We travels extensively in order to appraise antiques, works of art and decorative objects together with the more usual and useful items found in most homes. Valuations are provided and we are able to arrange the sale and dispersal of furnishings by auction or private treaty. All instructions received from clients are undertaken extremely promptly and with great courtesy and indeed we offers a 3-6-5 day 24 hour Antiques-Advice-Line accessed by telephone or via the Internet and e-mail. Location Our auction rooms and offices are located in Stanhope Street, opposite the Liverpool Yacht Marina. The auction rooms are within walking distance of the Albert Dock, the Maritime Museum, Tate Gallery and the Metropolitan and Anglican Cathedrals. International Buyers We are ideally located for international buyers, being close to one of the major container bases in the UK which strengthens the achievement of high auction prices by enabling the international exporters of antiques to bid at auction on many lots in one day, pack and export with ease and with minimal transportation time. The main export countries are the USA and Canada, Japan, Australia and of course the EEC countries. UK Collectors Most of the very high quality pieces which are bought at auction are added to existing established collections in the home market. We are pleased to visit clients in North Wales, most weekends and some evenings, to give free pre-sales valuations.
General Auctions General auctions are held at the our second auction rooms at Bathurst Buildings, 33-39 Stanhope Street, which houses the more mundane, but very useful items found in most homes, including gardening equipment, pre and post-war furniture, modern furniture, white-goods and a host of everyday old and modern objects. Additional Information Most of the lots offered for sale by auction by us are removed from estates nation-wide upon instructions from estate executors or entered for auction by enquirers who use our 3-6-5 day 24 hour Antiques-Advice-Line accessed by telephone or via the Internet and e-mail. International, national and local transportation of goods can be arranged through the auction room administration office. Refreshments are available at the auctions from 9.00 am.
