The purpose of our company is to support and advance the interests of all philatelists in Hampshire and neighboring counties who are members of clubs and societies affiliated to the federation.
Our federation operates an excellent and popular stamp approval packet which is circulated to all club and society members of good standing on a regular basis. Each packet usually contains about twenty books of worldwide stamps with plenty of variety.
The Federation Council is made up of delegates from the affiliated societies and meets five times per year to exchange ideas for the promotion of our hobby. The Federation has established an excellent reputation in the UK philatelic scene and provides active input to the association of British philatelic societies. Each year the Federation holds a Convention - hampex, which brings together dealers, specialist societies, collectors from near and far, and Junior collectors from Hampshire.
The Federation is widely recognized for its active promotion of stamp collecting for young people, as demonstrated by the Junior Workshop held at hampex, and for the support of Thematic and Topical philately which is continually growing in popularity.
For those collectors interested in the competitive aspects of the hobby, the Federation encourages participation in competitions across a range of abilities from society entries in the howard white trophy competition to individual entries in the Jan Kaluski Trophy competition which is judged to national standards. The breadth of interests and talent in Hampshire is on display in the hampex exhibition area.
The Federation Convention brings all these aspects together each year with strong support from dealers and specialist societies to provide the Hampshire collector with a day of enjoyment, challenge and interest, not to mention the odd bargain
