Marine Boats and Yacht Auctioneer
We holds two sales per month. One featuring Fine Art, Antique and Collectables and one for modern household furniture and effects. Established as a purpose built auction house in 1850 and originally part of the Watson, Bull and Porter estate agency group, the auction rooms were taken over by the Riches family twenty years ago. Directors Hugh and Warren Riches together with Rex Gully are the three permanent auctioneers and valuers, each specialising in their own field of expertise. Hugh is also a member of the professional body The National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) . This association ensures all members adhere to strict standards of professional conduct when involved in the business of auctioneering and that through regular attendance its members are kept abreast of new law, practices and codes. Sales are held on a monthly basis over two days and comprise of an antique and collectable sale on day one nationally advertised with colour catalogues available and regularly attended by purchasers from all over Britain, followed by a sale of modern furnishings and effects on day two. Thanks to todays technology, through the worldwide web and our auction house search partnership with Thesaurus, our shop window has now become accessible to potential purchasers and collectors from all over the world. In the last four years our commitment to the Internet and digital imaging science coupled with extensive national & international advertising has resulted in our business achieving results which most larger London auction houses would envy.
