with ten sales a year in all categories there is always a company sale in the near future. For vendors, our regular sales offer an established, successful market place and all our entry fees are pitched at the most competitive levels. Purchasers can find horses of all ages, categories and price levels whilst both parties are fully protected by our extensive conditions of sale which are regularly updated to reflect changes in the law and veterinary science.

our innovative "guide for buyers" is available to all new visitors and answers some of the most often asked questions in relation to our sales.

dbs catalogues are available on line and include details of entries for all company sales from august 2000.

company advise potential purchasers to read the company conditions of sale before bidding. These are the laws of our sales and are designed to protect the rights of both vendor and purchaser whilst insuring that company auctions are fair to both parties. They set out the legal basis under which company auctions are conducted.

potential purchasers are also directed to the company "guide for buyers" booklet which is available upon request and at every company sale from the auctioneers office. The guide is intended to explain exactly how company auctions work and answer some of the most obvious questions that arise during sales.

the guide particularly aims to assist first time or inexperienced purchasers at company sales. It covers pre-sales advice and preparation, procedures at the sales, conduct of the sale, veterinary examinations that may apply, specialised terms and practices and usefuly contacts.

company recommends that all purchasers read the guide in conjunction with the company conditions of sale and especially note the following key points.

there is a tradition at bloodstock auctions worldwide for a vendor to express his gratitude to a purchaser after the sale. This is solely a voluntary matter for the vendor and is not governed by the conditions of sale. Under no circumstances should purchasers enter into arrangements of this nature prior to sale as such action may well be illegal. If a post sale agreement should be made, it should be disclosed to all parties involved in the sale including any owners not present on the day of the sale.

company have also assisted in the compilation of the bloodstock industry code of practice. The code sets out what is, and what is not, acceptable behaviour from people dealing in bloodstock.
