Sales are held monthly on Saturdays at 9.30 a.m. at Reading Auction Market. Large sections include items sold by order of HM Customs & Excise, Inland Revenue, County Courts, the Official Receiver, Liquidators and the Enforcement Office. Items for sale usually include: Antique Furniture & Chattels Period & antique furniture, silver, ceramics & jewellery. Household Furniture All kinds of household furniture & effects including bedroom, dining & reception furniture, ceramics, prints and other items. Office Furniture includes desks, tables, chairs, filing cabinets and storage cupboards. Computers & Office Equipment All types of computers, printers, copiers, fax machines as well as other equipment and peripherals. Test facilities available. Nursery Plants Bedding plants, shrubs, planted containers, trees etc. Machinery Motor Vehicles, small tools & machinery and garden equipment. Contractors Plant Due to the popularity of these sales, we hold SIX sales of Contractors Plant & Equipment in Reading per year. There are now four sales annually in Reading with an additional one each summer in the Midlands. Over the years, carriages, sets of harness, sundry accoutrements and anything related to the art of carriage driving have been bought and sold by clients around the globe. The sales provide an important meeting place for driving and equestrian enthusiasts, as well as for those looking to buy and sell their items. In addition to the regular collective sales, we have been asked to conduct important dispersal or reduction sales on behalf of private clients, at their premises. In recent years there have been highly successful dispersal sales on behalf of Noel Abel, the National Gypsy Museum, the Foxhill Carriage Collection, the Malverleys Collection, the Vaux Brewery Stables, E W Gardner Collection and the world famous George Shaw Collection, to name but a few. Heavy Horses Hackney Horses & Ponies Special sales by request, such as Spotted Ponies, Miniatures, Toy Horses etc. Payment for all lots purchased at Reading sales can be made by either Cash, Cheques (up to the limit of your Cheque Guarantee Card or accompanied by a letter of reference from the bank) or by Direct Debit cards. Credit Cards can also be accepted, but they carry a 2% surcharge. Buyers from within the EU may pay by Euros or Travellers Cheques. Foreign currency can also be accepted in special circumstances. Buyers from outside the EU can also pay through their Euro accounts, Travellers Cheques or their own currency. V.A.T. Must be paid by ALL BUYERS on any goods which are assets of a registered business. V.A.T. Numbers must be supplied by vendors where applicable. We are agents for the Official Receiver in Reading and other local offices. Michael Kimber is the Officer to the High Sheriffs of Berkshire and Oxfordshire, and with his assistant, Michael Duly, executes all High Court civil writs in those counties.
