Tutankhamun Bust |
| This elegant bust, made from solid stone, is a reproduction of the mask of tutankhamun, the famous boy-king. The boy-pharaoh tutankhamun is probably the best-known to us of all the pharaohs since his glorious tomb was discovered intact. He died when only 18 having reigned only 6 years. Tutankhamuns tomb in the valley of the kings was the only one of 60 royal tombs to have escaped the grave-robbers. His tomb survived by a lucky chance - ramesses vi built his tomb in the cliffs immediately above it and when the upper tomb was raided the tons of rubble thrown out of it completely concealed tutankhamuns tomb.
