| Studer HP Compact is a combined inverter and charger in one robust unit. The inverter provides up to 2500 watts of continuous 230V/ 50 Hz AC sinewave power from a 12v battery, with 3x this available at start-up for difficult loads such as motors, fridge compressors, etc. The output has protection against overloads, excess temperature rise and short circuits. Battery supply currents approach 250 amps at peak loads. Battery type, capacity and cable size must all be selected with this in mind. The unit is permanently mounted in a dry and ventilated space near the battery bank. Panel LEDs monitor system operation, including a battery state bargraph. It has the ability to detect the presence of mains, or a generator, and switch to charge mode, and vice-versa. Alternatively, a volts-free set of relay contacts automatically transfers to mains charging (or gives start signal for generator) at a preset battery voltage. The battery charging current is adjustable from 0-110 amps. Select a level to re-charge in 8 hours or less, taking care not to exceed the manufacturer recommendations. Charging stages are:- 1) bulk charge to 14.4v 2) absorption stage at constant voltage 3) float charge at 13.6v and 4) selectable equalisation stage.
