| Pewter cavalier helmet.In England, the most explosive example of this conflict took place in the 17th century - and a war that tore the country in half: the English civil war and it is here that we find the most well known examples of the name cavalier. Cavaliers were the supporters of charles i and the monarch (supporters were also known as loyalists). Opposing the cavaliers were the parliamentarians, or round heads.Each helmet is a scale replica of an original helmet in that style. It comes with a wooden stand finshed in a light teak varnish. The stand has has a metal rod in the middle which has a rubber half ball shape mounted on top. The helmet sits on the rubber mount which is sized to fit the helmet.
