Our company’s story began with the invention of the Rechargeable Alkaline Manganese (RAM) battery by Professor Karl Kordesch in the late 1970’s. Company’s battery technologies were founded in 1995 and acquired the rights to manufacture RAM batteries at an advanced facility in Malaysia.
Company’s battery technologies (Australia) Pty Ltd (GBTA) was established in 1998 to bring innovative portable and renewable energy products to the Australian marketplace. We are an Australian company backed by strong support from our Canadian, Chinese, European, Malaysian and South African counterparts.
An estimated six batteries are thrown away each year by every man, woman and child on the planet. That’s around 40 billion batteries worldwide in just one year. Many of these contain mercury, cadmium and other harmful substances, which ultimately pollute our waterways and the land. This alarming trend is actually increasing due to the growth of portable electronic equipment.
Our company is proud to be at the forefront of the technology that is helping to reverse this trend. Not only do company’s batteries use more environmentally friendly components, they are manufactured using only the ultimate in energy efficient techniques to reduce creation of waste materials in production. <> Company’s batteries are manufactured with no mercury and no cadmium, two of the most harmful substances in the world, and widely used in battery manufacture even to this day.
